daylight savings officially started today
Woke up at 12 something without realizing that daylight saving has already started. So officially I woke up at 1 something and not 12 something. So sad, one hour loss when i can do so much in spring.
Anyway, weather was good and mood was good. So I had a good cooking fiesta day. After lunch, I baked some choc choc chip cookies which is a bit terrible as i do not have the proper equipment and utensils but tasted awesome. Reminds me of the choc choc chip ice cream at haagen dasz.
Then for dinner, hubs and I cooked tau eu bak (pork stew in soy sauce) and too thor thng (pig stomach soup) and had deep fried tau kua.
I didn't really enjoy it as it was too meaty and I miss my mom's tau eu bak as I had to 'adjust' my tau eu bak according to hub's taste with the 'spare parts' - cheong (pig's intestines) filled with egg.
The too thor thng also did not really taste like how my grandma used to cook. Not sure where I gone wrong but it was still edible.
and my deep fried taukua....
The menu planning was a bit off but it was still good. Next weekend, I should be having poh piah if i can find mangkuang, loh bak and kiam chye thng... *salivating*

Long Weekend
Woke up early today to go shopping at Gungahlin. Not the normal shopping but grocery shopping. The asian grocery market there is bigger than the one we normally go to in Belconnen and more choices too.
We need to get the dark soy sauce that is not sweet for our tau eu bak but can't seem to find any, so that's why we had to go there to see if they have it and yes we found it (fingers crossed - as there's none that says it's thick dark soy sauce and some of them are dark soy sauce but not thick or some are sweet. Anyway we gonna cook that tomorrow and with our too thor thng or either the green curry.
So we were hungry when we reached so we decided to go to Central Cafe for lunch. Hub's colleague told him that the mix grill platter is awesome and it's for 2 person but hubs was too greedy, he ordered the dish to himself, i ordered an entree which is the calamari and I thought it will just be a plate of calamari but it came with salad and chips. But when hubs saw the other diners with the mix grill platter and he said greedily that he can finish the whole plate to himself and asked me to order their lemon chicken just in case i'm hungry. So we ordered.
When the food came, I just knew the Lemon Chicken would be too much for the 2 of us. Luckily the chef hasn't prepared it yet so we canceled it.
Just imagine this is what we had for lunch, hub's mix grill platter.

if you're wondering why all half eaten, that's because both of us were too famished till we forgot to take a picture till halfway hubs reminded me. hehehe..... I know, we both sound like gluttons but then food was good just that you have to wait a while and a while meaning at least 30 - 40 mins for your food to come. But then it was worth it. We didn't manage to finish the mix grill so we had to tah pau the other 2 pieces of meat back for dinner tonight.

My first Ralphie
Heeeeeeeellllllllllooooooooooo..................
I know i've been MIA but then again, I was just too tired and lazy to post up my 'happenings'
Anyway I know my Melbourne trip was ages ago but those of you who know me will know that the pictures are all up in FB. Trip was good and can't wait for my next trip to Melbourne again which is just next weekend as I have to fly into Melbourne for a conference.
So yeah, with the title I'm sure you want to know what I actually got? I've got the Ralph Lauren Blue Label Canvas Medium Tote in Red & Black coror. I so heartin it as it's casual and classy at the same time. If i hide the pony, no one knows I'm carrying a ralphie.

Nice boh? I so heartin (10x) it and am carrying it everyday to work but then again, I shouldn't coz then I will spoil my bag but what can i do, i heart is so much.
